Citrix was founded in Texas more than two decades ago, back in 1989, by Ed Iacobucci who was also a former developer at IBM. Today, it is based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida but have other offices in California and Massachusetts as well as operation centers in the UK, Australia and India.

Citrix went public in 1995. It was in October 2007 that the company acquired XenSource, Inc. for better focus on software development and innovation especially in the Xen open source hypervisor project.

There are three key products under Citrix – Citrix Delivery Center, Citrix Cloud Center (C3) and Citrix Online Services. These technological innovations aim to transform your workplace. Citrix Delivery Center – transforms any server, desktop and laptop, and applications. With XrnDesktop, XenApp, XenServer, and NetScaler, everything is centralized in a datacenter and are then delivered as on-demand services.
